{"data":{"id":"us-az/a.r.s.-28-944","jurisdiction":"us-az","citation":"A.R.S. § 28-944","heading":"Lighting equipment on motor driven cycles","body":"The head lamp or head lamps on a motor driven cycle may be of the single beam or multiple beam type and shall comply with requirements and limitations as follows:\n\n1. A head lamp or head lamps on a motor driven cycle shall be of sufficient intensity to reveal a person or a vehicle at a distance of not less than one hundred feet when the motor driven cycle is operated at a speed of less than twenty-five miles per hour and at a distance of not less than two hundred feet when the motor driven cycle is operated at a speed of twenty-five or more miles per hour, and the motor driven cycle is subject to the speed limitations in section 28-705.\n\n2. If the motor driven cycle is equipped with a multiple beam head lamp or head lamps:\n\n(a) The upper beam shall meet the minimum requirements provided in paragraph 1 of this section and shall not exceed the limitations set forth in section 28-941, paragraph 1.\n\n(b) The lowermost beam shall meet the requirements applicable to a lowermost distribution of light as set forth in section 28-941, paragraph 2.\n\n3. If the motor driven cycle is equipped with a single beam lamp or lamps, the lamp or lamps shall be aimed so that when the vehicle is loaded none of the high intensity portion of light, at a distance of twenty-five feet ahead, projects higher than the level of the center of the lamp from which it comes.","path":["Title 28 Transportation"],"source_url":"https://www.azleg.gov/ars/28/00944.htm","current_through":"2026-09-04","vintage":"2026-08-09","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:49:56Z","sha256":"892dc5de81e42dce27170f0f29e9698ee451cc47aafc5d25dad2c768c0799bb7","source_id":"us-az","stale":true,"prev":"us-az/a.r.s.-28-943","next":"us-az/a.r.s.-28-945"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
