A person who wishes to be licensed as a speech-language pathologist shall:\n\n1. Submit a nonrefundable application fee as prescribed by section 36-1908.\n\n2. Submit evidence satisfactory to the director that the applicant has:\n\n(a) A master's degree in speech-language pathology or the equivalent from a nationally or regionally accredited college or university in a program consistent with the standards of this state's universities.\n\n(b) Completed a supervised clinical practicum in speech-language pathology from a nationally or regionally accredited college or university in a program consistent with the standards of this state's universities.\n\n(c) Completed postgraduate professional experience in the field of speech-language pathology approved by the director.\n\n3. Pass an examination pursuant to section 36-1902, subsection G.\n\n4. Not have had a license revoked or suspended by a state within the preceding two years and not be presently ineligible for licensure in any state because of a prior revocation or suspension.\n\nB. A person who wishes to be licensed as a speech-language pathologist whose practice is limited to providing services to pupils under the authority of a local education agency or state-supported institution shall:\n\n1. Submit a nonrefundable application fee as provided by section 36-1908.\n\n2. Submit proof of an employee or contractor relationship with a local education agency or a state-supported institution.\n\n3. Hold a certificate in speech and language therapy awarded by the state board of education.\n\nC. A person who wishes to be licensed as a speech-language pathologist and have the privilege to practice pursuant to article 4.1 of this chapter shall obtain a fingerprint clearance card pursuant to section 41-1758.07.\n\nD.
