{"data":{"id":"us-az/a.r.s.-36-2171","jurisdiction":"us-az","citation":"A.R.S. § 36-2171","heading":"Definitions","body":"In this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires:\n\n1. \"Advance practice provider\" means a physician assistant as defined in section 32-2501 or a registered nurse practitioner as defined in section 32-1601.\n\n2. \"Behavioral health provider\" means a physician who is a board-certified or board-eligible psychiatrist, a psychologist, a physician assistant or a registered nurse practitioner who is certified to practice as a behavioral health specialist or a person who is licensed pursuant to title 32 as a clinical social worker, professional counselor or marriage and family therapist.\n\n3. \"Department\" means the department of health services.\n\n4. \"Pharmacist\" has the same meaning prescribed in section 32-1901.\n\n5. \"Rural\" means either of the following:\n\n(a) A county with a population of less than four hundred thousand persons according to the most recent United States decennial census.\n\n(b) A census county division with less than fifty thousand persons in a county with a population of four hundred thousand or more persons according to the most recent United States decennial census.","path":["Title 36 Public Health and Safety"],"source_url":"https://www.azleg.gov/ars/36/02171.htm","current_through":"2026-09-04","vintage":"2026-08-09","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:49:56Z","sha256":"8d8d7a9bda9792558b693dc4e2fccd6859feda51613fbe1f9d151c6a36a69e01","source_id":"us-az","stale":true,"prev":"us-az/a.r.s.-36-217","next":"us-az/a.r.s.-36-2172"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
