{"data":{"id":"us-az/a.r.s.-41-2021","jurisdiction":"us-az","citation":"A.R.S. § 41-2021","heading":"Definitions","body":"In this article, unless the context otherwise requires:\n\n1. \"Early intervention programs and services\" means developmental services that are provided under public supervision at no cost, except if federal or state law provides for a system of payments by families, and that are designed to meet one or more of an infant's or toddler's developmental needs.\n\n2. \"Infants and toddlers\" means children from birth to thirty-six months of age who need early intervention programs and services because they have either of the following:\n\n(a) A developmental need as evidenced by experiencing developmental delays, as measured by appropriate diagnostic instruments and procedures, in one or more of the following areas:\n\n(i) Cognitive development.\n\n(ii) Physical development.\n\n(iii) Language and speech development.\n\n(iv) Psychosocial development.\n\n(v) Self-help skills.\n\n(b) A diagnosed physical or mental condition that has a high probability of resulting in developmental delays.\n\n3. \"Interagency coordinating council for infants and toddlers\" means the council established by order of the governor in accordance with federal law.","path":["Title 41 State Government"],"source_url":"https://www.azleg.gov/ars/41/02021.htm","current_through":"2026-09-04","vintage":"2026-08-09","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:49:56Z","sha256":"1e2452c47ecd2beb009e206b8955db05ba4d8ea8e928a562b86f144756458430","source_id":"us-az","stale":true,"prev":"us-az/a.r.s.-41-2012","next":"us-az/a.r.s.-41-2022"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
