Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, offer a fantasy sports contest in this state unless the person is licensed by the department.\n\n2. Knowingly make a false statement on an application for a license under this chapter.\n\n3. Knowingly provide false testimony to the department or any authorized representative of the department.\n\nB. The department may not issue a license under this chapter to a person that violates subsection A of this section.\n\nC. A person that violates subsection A, paragraph 1 of this section is guilty of a crime as follows:\n\n1. For the first or second violation, the person is guilty of a class 3 misdemeanor.\n\n2. For a third or subsequent violation, the person is guilty of a class 1 misdemeanor.\n\nD. The department may issue a cease and desist order and obtain injunctive relief against a person that violates this chapter.\n\nE. The department may impose a civil penalty of not more than $10,000 for a violation of this chapter, a rule adopted under this chapter or an order of the department. A civil penalty imposed under this section is payable to this state and may be collected in a civil action brought by the department.\n\nF. The department may suspend, revoke or restrict the license of a fantasy sports contest operator that violates this chapter, a rule adopted under this chapter or an order of the department.","path":["Title 5 Amusements and Sports"],"source_url":"https://www.azleg.gov/ars/5/01210.htm","current_through":"2026-09-04","vintage":"2026-08-09","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:49:56Z","sha256":"5ff9bb750dd83b9b72a0e8e3b0aa58b4435fb91c0e37fd7424adc0dc13777c62","source_id":"us-az","stale":true,"prev":"us-az/a.r.s.-5-1209","next":"us-az/a.r.s.-5-1211"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
