A city or town shall not impose any residency requirement on any firefighter or peace officer as a condition of employment.\n\nB. This section does not apply to any of the following:\n\n1. Executive-level firefighters and executive-level peace officers.\n\n2. Peace officers employed by a city or town with a population of five thousand persons or less.\n\nC.
