{"data":{"id":"us-ca/bpc-2483","jurisdiction":"us-ca","citation":"BPC § 2483","heading":"","body":"(a) Each applicant for a certificate to practice podiatric medicine shall show by an official transcript or other official evidence satisfactory to the board that is submitted directly to the board by the academic institution that he or she has successfully completed a medical curriculum extending over a period of at least four academic years, or 32 months of actual instruction, in a college or school of podiatric medicine approved by the board. The total number of hours of all courses shall consist of a minimum of 4,000 hours.\nThe board, by regulation, shall adopt standards for determining equivalent training authorized by this section.\n(b) The curriculum for all applicants shall provide for adequate instruction related to podiatric medicine in the following:\nAlcoholism and other chemical substance detection\nLocal anesthesia\nAnatomy, including embryology, histology, and neuroanatomy\nBehavioral science\nBiochemistry\nBiomechanics-foot and ankle\nChild abuse detection\nDermatology\nGeriatric medicine\nHuman sexuality\nInfectious diseases\nMedical ethics\nNeurology\nOrthopedic surgery\nPathology, microbiology, and immunology\nPediatrics\nPharmacology, including materia medica and toxicology\nPhysical and laboratory diagnosis\nPhysical medicine\nPhysiology\nPodiatric medicine\nPodiatric surgery\nPreventive medicine, including nutrition\nPsychiatric problem detection\nRadiology and radiation safety\nSpousal or partner abuse detection\nTherapeutics\nWomen’s health","path":["Business and Professions Code - BPC","DIVISION 2.
