{"data":{"id":"us-ca/gov-31485.22","jurisdiction":"us-ca","citation":"GOV § 31485.22","heading":"","body":"(a) A member who, while currently employed, has reached normal retirement age, as defined by the retirement system, and has met the benefit commencement requirements in Article 8 or Article 9, shall be fully vested in the benefits payable under the retirement system. Upon satisfying the requirements of this section, a member may be retired upon filing with the board a written application in the manner provided in Articles 8 and 9 of this chapter, as applicable.\n(b) Notwithstanding subdivision (a), Articles 8 and 9 of this chapter, or any other applicable law, a member’s earned and accrued benefits may be forfeited under Section 7522.70, 7522.72, or 7522.74.","path":["Government Code - GOV","TITLE 3.
