{"data":{"id":"us-ca/gov-31727.7","jurisdiction":"us-ca","citation":"GOV § 31727.7","heading":"","body":"Upon retirement for nonservice-connected disability, in lieu of any other allowance, a member who has five years or more credited service shall receive a disability allowance equal to the percentage of final compensation set forth opposite the member’s number of years of credited service in the following table:\nPercentage of\nYears of credited service: final compensation:\nFive years, but less than six years 20.0\nSix years, but less than seven years 22.0\nSeven years, but less than eight years 24.0\nEight years, but less than nine years 26.0\nNine years, but less than ten years 28.0\nTen years, but less than eleven years 30.0\nEleven years, but less than twelve years 32.0\nTwelve years, but less than thirteen years 34.0\nThirteen years, but less than fourteen years 36.0\nFourteen years, but less than fifteen years 38.0\nFifteen or more years 40.0\nThis section shall only apply to the following persons:\n(a) Persons who become members of the retirement system after the operative date of this section in the county.\n(b) Those persons who were members prior to such operative date who, pursuant to a memorandum of understanding with their bargaining unit, elect to be subject to this section on or after such operative date.\n(c) Management and confidential employees and employees not a part of a bargaining unit who were members prior to such operative date and elect to be subject to this section on or after such operative date. The board of supervisors shall prescribe the time period and conditions governing the election.\nThis section shall not be operative in any county until such time as the board of supervisors by majority vote makes the provisions of this section applicable in such county.","path":["Government Code - GOV","TITLE 3.
