{"data":{"id":"us-ca/gov-56036.6","jurisdiction":"us-ca","citation":"GOV § 56036.6","heading":"","body":"(a) For the purposes of Chapter 1 (commencing with Section 57000) to Chapter 7 (commencing with Section 57176), inclusive, of Part 4 or Part 5 (commencing with Section 57300), none of the following entities is a “district” or “special district” if the commission of the principal county determines, in accordance with Sections 56127 and 56128, that the entity is not a “district” or “special district”:\n(1) A flood control district.\n(2) A flood control and floodwater conservation district.\n(3) A flood control and water conservation district.\n(4) A conservation district.\n(5) A water conservation district.\n(6) A water replenishment district.\n(7) The Orange County Water District.\n(8) A California water storage district.\n(9) A water agency.\n(10) A county water authority or a water authority.\n(b) If the commission determines that an entity described in this section is not a “district” or “special district,” any proceedings pursuant to Part 4 (commencing with Section 57000) for a change of organization involving the entity shall be conducted pursuant to the principal act authorizing the establishment of that entity.","path":["Government Code - GOV","TITLE 5.
