{"data":{"id":"us-ca/gov-7923.655","jurisdiction":"us-ca","citation":"GOV § 7923.655","heading":"","body":"(a) A state or local law enforcement agency shall not require a victim of an incident, or an authorized representative of a victim, to show proof of the victim’s legal presence in the United States in order to obtain the information required to be disclosed by that law enforcement agency pursuant to Article 1 (commencing with Section 7923.600).\n(b) If, for identification purposes, a state or local law enforcement agency requires a victim of an incident, or an authorized representative of a victim, to provide identification in order to obtain information required to be disclosed by that law enforcement agency pursuant to Article 1 (commencing with Section 7923.600), the agency shall at a minimum accept any of the following:\n(1) A current driver’s license or identification card issued by any state in the United States.\n(2) A current passport issued by the United States or a foreign government with which the United States has a diplomatic relationship.\n(3) A current Matricula Consular card.","path":["Government Code - GOV","TITLE 1.
