The person so designated shall hold the office of chairman at the pleasure of the Governor.\nThe chairman may designate in writing one of the other members of the appeals board to act as chairman during such time as he may be absent from the state on official business, on vacation, or absent due to illness.","path":["Labor Code - LAB","DIVISION 1.
