{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-10-16-151","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 10-16-151","heading":"Cost sharing in prescription insulin drugs - limits - definition - rules.","body":"(1) As used in this section, unless the context otherwise requires, \"prescription insulin drug\" means a prescription drug, as defined in section 12-280-103 (42), that contains insulin and is used to treat diabetes.\n\n(2) A carrier that provides coverage for prescription insulin drugs pursuant to the terms of a health coverage plan the carrier offers shall cap the total amount that a covered person is required to pay for all covered prescription insulin drugs at an amount not to exceed one hundred dollars for the covered person's entire thirty-day supply of insulin, regardless of the amount or type of insulin needed to fill the covered person's prescription or the number of prescriptions.\n\n(3) Nothing in this section prevents a carrier from reducing a covered person's cost sharing by an amount greater than the amount specified in subsection (2) of this section.\n\n(4) The commissioner may use any of the commissioner's enforcement powers to obtain a carrier's compliance with this section.\n\n(5) The commissioner may promulgate rules as necessary to implement and administer this section and to align with federal requirements.","path":["Title INSURANCE - MUTUAL INSURANCE","Article 16 - Health-care Coverage","Part 1 - GENERAL PROVISIONS"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-10.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"efe6ebb74922eb5299cd2b3b98473750ccfb53333e14b32a2aaf4e9a5e0f8413","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-10-16-150","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-10-16-152"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
