{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-12-135-114","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 12-135-114","heading":"Insurance requirements.","body":"(1) A funeral establishment shall obtain and maintain a professional liability insurance policy with liability limits of at least one million dollars. The funeral establishment must submit the certificate of professional liability insurance to the director:\n\n(a) Within thirty days after the initial registration of the funeral establishment by the director;\n\n(b) Upon request by the director; and\n\n(c) On and after August 12, 2026, by attestation when renewing the registration of the funeral establishment pursuant to section 12-135-110.\n\n(2) A funeral establishment shall notify the director in writing within thirty days after doing any of the following for the professional liability insurance policy required by subsection (1) of this section:\n\n(a) Changing the policy or the insurer that issues the policy; or\n\n(b) Canceling or suspending the policy.","path":["Title 12 - PROFESSIONS AND OCCUPATIONS","Article 135 - Mortuary Science Code","Part 1 - GENERAL PROVISIONS"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-12.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"b9ea60cd7647a1c1cbeabcabe04afa3617375491a21ad79baaee3d1f5fe3783f","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-12-135-113","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-12-135-115"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
