{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-15-1-1508","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 15-1-1508","heading":"Disclosure of other digital assets of deceased user.","body":"(1) Unless the user prohibited disclosure of digital assets or the court directs otherwise, a custodian shall disclose to the personal representative of the estate of a deceased user a catalog of electronic communications sent or received by the user and digital assets, other than the content of electronic communications, of the user, if the representative gives the custodian:\n\n(a) A written request for disclosure in physical or electronic form;\n\n(b) A certified copy of the death certificate of the user;\n\n(c) A certified copy of the letter of appointment of the representative or a small-estate affidavit or court order; and\n\n(d) If requested by the custodian:\n\n(I) A number, username, address, or other unique subscriber or account identifier assigned by the custodian to identify the user's account;\n\n(II) Evidence linking the account to the user;\n\n(III) An affidavit stating that disclosure of the user's digital assets is reasonably necessary for administration of the estate; or\n\n(IV) A finding by the court that:\n\n(A) The user had a specific account with the custodian, identifiable by the information specified in subparagraph (I) of this paragraph (d); or\n\n(B) Disclosure of the user's digital assets is reasonably necessary for administration of the estate.","path":["Title 15 - PROBATE, TRUSTS, AND FIDUCIARIES","Article 1 - Fiduciary","Part 15 - REVISED UNIFORM FIDUCIARY ACCESS TO DIGITAL ASSETS ACT"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-15.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"ff94b96ca11fe6348d5223467456b69903ee2e0137d3db1100def9d99a9347dd","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-15-1-1507","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-15-1-1509"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
