{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-15-1.2-308","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 15-1.2-308","heading":"Period.","body":"(1) A unitrust policy must provide the period used under sections 15-1.2-306 and 15-1.2-307. Except as otherwise provided in section 15-1.2-309 (2)(c), the period may be:\n\n(a) A calendar year;\n\n(b) A twelve-month period other than a calendar year;\n\n(c) A calendar quarter;\n\n(d) A three-month period other than a calendar quarter; or\n\n(e) Another period.\n\n(2) Except as otherwise provided in section 15-1.2-309 (2), a unitrust policy may provide standards for:\n\n(a) Using fewer preceding periods under section 15-1.2-306 (1)(b)(II), (2)(c), or (2)(d) if:\n\n(I) The trust was not in existence in a preceding period; or\n\n(II) Market indices or other published data are not available for a preceding period;\n\n(b) Using fewer preceding periods under section 15-1.2-307 (2)(e)(I), (2)(e)(II), (2)(f)(II), or (2)(g)(II) if:\n\n(I) The trust was not in existence in a preceding period; or\n\n(II) Fair market values are not available for a preceding period; and\n\n(c) Prorating the unitrust amount on a daily basis for a part of a period in which the trust or the administration of the trust as a unitrust or the interest of any beneficiary commences or terminates.","path":["Title 15 - PROBATE, TRUSTS, AND FIDUCIARIES","Article 1.2 - Uniform Fiduciary Income and Principal Act","Part 3 - UNITRUST"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-15.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"f44659cc8b332fde2caed5ddc35777944553f3dc8bbe2f1edcaa97ff3b4725af","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-15-1.2-307","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-15-1.2-309"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
