{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-15-14-716","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 15-14-716","heading":"Judicial relief.","body":"(1) The following persons may petition a court to construe a power of attorney or review the agent's conduct and grant appropriate relief:\n\n(a) The principal or the agent;\n\n(b) A guardian, conservator, or other fiduciary acting for the principal;\n\n(c) A person authorized to make health-care decisions for the principal;\n\n(d) The principal's spouse, parent, or descendant;\n\n(e) An individual who would qualify as a presumptive heir of the principal;\n\n(f) A person named as a beneficiary to receive any property, benefit, or contractual right on the principal's death or as a beneficiary of a trust created by or for the principal that has a financial interest in the principal's estate;\n\n(g) A governmental agency having authority to protect the welfare of the principal;\n\n(h) The principal's caregiver or another person that demonstrates sufficient interest in the principal's welfare; and\n\n(i) A person asked to accept the power of attorney.\n\n(2) Upon motion by the principal, the court shall dismiss a petition filed under this section, unless the court finds that the principal lacks capacity to revoke the agent's authority or the power of attorney.","path":["Title 15 - PROBATE, TRUSTS, AND FIDUCIARIES","Article 14 - Persons Under Disability - Protection","Part 7 - UNIFORM POWER OF ATTORNEY ACT","Subpart 1 - GENERAL PROVISIONS"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-15.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"afde71807d65a203563d7a78a903950c9b961e01dc45455667a4167adb1ff6b5","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-15-14-715","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-15-14-717"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
