{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-15-14-728","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 15-14-728","heading":"Tangible personal property.","body":"(1) Unless the power of attorney otherwise provides, language in a power of attorney granting general authority with respect to tangible personal property authorizes the agent to:\n\n(a) Demand, buy, receive, accept as a gift or as security for an extension of credit, or otherwise acquire or reject ownership or possession of tangible personal property or an interest in tangible personal property;\n\n(b) Sell; exchange; convey with or without covenants, representations, or warranties; quitclaim; release; surrender; create a security interest in; grant options concerning; lease; sublease; or otherwise dispose of tangible personal property or an interest in tangible personal property;\n\n(c) Grant a security interest in tangible personal property or an interest in tangible personal property as security to borrow money or pay, renew, or extend the time of payment of a debt of the principal or a debt guaranteed by the principal;\n\n(d) Release, assign, satisfy, or enforce by litigation or otherwise a security interest, lien, or other claim on behalf of the principal with respect to tangible personal property or an interest in tangible personal property;\n\n(e) Manage or conserve tangible personal property or an interest in tangible personal property on behalf of the principal, including:\n\n(I) Insuring against liability or casualty or other loss;\n\n(II) Obtaining or regaining possession of or protecting the property or interest, by litigation or otherwise;\n\n(III) Paying, assessing, compromising, or contesting taxes or assessments or applying for and receiving refunds in connection with taxes or assessments;\n\n(IV) Moving the property from place to place;\n\n(V) Storing the property for hire or on a gratuitous bailment; and\n\n(VI) Using and making repairs, alterations, or improvements to the property; and\n\n(f) Change the form of title of an interest in tangible personal property.","path":["Title 15 - PROBATE, TRUSTS, AND FIDUCIARIES","Article 14 - Persons Under Disability - Protection","Part 7 - UNIFORM POWER OF ATTORNEY ACT","Subpart 2 - AUTHORITY"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-15.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"671b158334f8dc928c8d77e1d25b0c288af7cfccc66cf71e8288290ea7324861","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-15-14-727","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-15-14-729"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
