{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-18-24-102","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 18-24-102","heading":"Surcharge.","body":"(1) Each person who is convicted of a crime against a child shall be required to pay a surcharge to the clerk of the court for the judicial district in which the conviction occurs.\n\n(2) Surcharges pursuant to subsection (1) of this section are in the following amounts:\n\n(a) For each class 2 felony of which a person is convicted, except as described in subsection (3) of this section, one thousand five hundred dollars;\n\n(b) For each class 3 felony of which a person is convicted, one thousand dollars;\n\n(c) For each class 4 felony of which a person is convicted, five hundred dollars;\n\n(d) For each class 5 felony of which a person is convicted, three hundred seventy-five dollars;\n\n(e) For each class 6 felony of which a person is convicted, two hundred fifty dollars;\n\n(f) For each class 1 misdemeanor of which a person is convicted, two hundred dollars;\n\n(g) For each class 2 misdemeanor of which a person is convicted, one hundred fifty dollars; and\n\n(h) For each class 3 misdemeanor of which a person is convicted, seventy-five dollars.\n\n(3) For the purposes of subsection (2)(a) of this section, if the class 2 felony of which the person is convicted is for human trafficking of a minor for involuntary servitude, as described in section 18-3-503, or for human trafficking of a minor for sexual servitude, as described in section 18-3-504, then the person is required to pay a surcharge in the amount of three thousand dollars.","path":["Title 18 - CRIMINAL CODE","Article 24 - Crimes Against Children Surcharge"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-18.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"84573e7f176e6acc4d576feb2a6aaf221fe94984b863415abc33c330d6ee4701","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-18-24-101","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-18-24-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
