{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-18-5-401","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 18-5-401","heading":"Commercial bribery and breach of duty to act disinterestedly.","body":"(1) A person commits a class 6 felony if he solicits, accepts, or agrees to accept any benefit as consideration for knowingly violating or agreeing to violate a duty of fidelity to which he is subject as:\n\n(a) Agent or employee; or\n\n(b) Trustee, guardian, or other fiduciary; or\n\n(c) Lawyer, physician, accountant, appraiser, or other professional adviser; or\n\n(d) Officer, director, partner, manager, or other participant in the direction of the affairs of an incorporated or unincorporated association; or\n\n(e) Duly elected or appointed representative or trustee of a labor organization or employee welfare trust fund; or\n\n(f) Arbitrator or other purportedly disinterested adjudicator or referee.\n\n(2) A person who holds himself out to the public as being engaged in the business of making disinterested selection, appraisal, or criticism of commodities, property, or services commits a class 6 felony if he knowingly solicits, accepts, or agrees to accept any benefit to alter, modify, or change his selection, appraisal, or criticism.\n\n(3) A person commits a class 6 felony if he confers or offers or agrees to confer any benefit the acceptance of which would be a felony under subsections (1) and (2) of this section.","path":["Title 18 - CRIMINAL CODE","Article 5 - Offenses Involving Fraud","Part 4 - BRIBERY AND RIGGING OF CONTESTS"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-18.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"41203f640d7fc49d6006b60bfcf69d7d30415196d8db1607e6cbdd12b5d0b38a","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-18-5-309","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-18-5-402"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
