A juvenile is a mandatory sentence offender if the juvenile:\n\n(a) Has been adjudicated a juvenile delinquent twice; or\n\n(b) Has been adjudicated a juvenile delinquent and if the juvenile's probation has been revoked for a delinquent act, and:\n\n(I) Is subsequently adjudicated a juvenile delinquent; or\n\n(II) Has probation revoked for a delinquent act.\n\n(2) Repeat juvenile offender. A juvenile is a repeat juvenile offender if the juvenile has been previously adjudicated a juvenile delinquent and is adjudicated a juvenile delinquent for a delinquent act that constitutes a felony or if the juvenile's probation is revoked for a delinquent act that constitutes a felony.\n\n(3) Violent juvenile offender. A juvenile is a violent juvenile offender if the juvenile is adjudicated a juvenile delinquent for a delinquent act that constitutes a crime of violence as defined in section 18-1.3-406 (2).\n\n(4) Aggravated juvenile offender.\n\n(a) A juvenile offender is an aggravated juvenile offender if the juvenile is:\n\n(I) Adjudicated a juvenile delinquent for a delinquent act that constitutes a class 1 or class 2 felony or if the juvenile's probation is revoked for a delinquent act that constitutes a class 1 or class 2 felony; or\n\n(II) Adjudicated a juvenile delinquent for a delinquent act that constitutes a felony and either is subsequently adjudicated a juvenile delinquent for a delinquent act that constitutes a crime of violence, as defined in section 18-1.3-406 (2), or has probation revoked for a delinquent act that constitutes a crime of violence, as defined in section 18-1.3-406 (2); or\n\n(III) Adjudicated a juvenile delinquent or if the juvenile's probation is revoked for a delinquent act that constitutes felonious unlawful sexual behavior pursuant to part 4 of article 3 of title 18, incest pursuant to section 18-6-301, or aggravated incest pursuant to section 18-6-302.\n\n(b) Provisions concerning aggravated juvenile offenders are located in sections 19-2.5-503 and 19-2.5-1127.","path":["Title 19 - CHILDREN'S CODE","Article 2.5 - The Colorado Juvenile Justice System","Part 11 - SENTENCING","Subpart C - SENTENCING - SPECIAL OFFENDERS"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-19.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"502884791476f0299afa16b7b95b0f1c93eda2042443da598a209d35dbe4c8f7","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-19-2.5-1124","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-19-2.5-1126"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
