{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-19-2.5-904","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 19-2.5-904","heading":"Speedy trial - procedural schedule.","body":"(1) The juvenile's right to a speedy trial is governed by section 18-1-405 and rule 48(b) of the Colorado rules of criminal procedure.\n\n(2) In bringing an adjudicatory action against a juvenile pursuant to this article 2.5, the district attorney and the court shall comply with the deadlines for:\n\n(a) Holding the detention hearing, as specified in section 19-2.5-305 (3)(a)(I);\n\n(b) Filing the petition, as specified in section 19-2.5-305 (3)(a)(IX);\n\n(c) Setting the first appearance, as specified in section 19-2.5-501 (4); and\n\n(d) Holding the adjudicatory trial, as specified in section 19-2.5-902 (1).\n\n(3) The court may grant a continuance with regard to any of the deadlines specified in subsection (2) of this section upon making a finding of good cause.","path":["Title 19 - CHILDREN'S CODE","Article 2.5 - The Colorado Juvenile Justice System","Part 9 - ADJUDICATORY PROCEEDINGS"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-19.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"20d3bac05b2ff823782f15beb5ae8492f295adf5281acc03d424c5ad20eb806f","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-19-2.5-903","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-19-2.5-905"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
