{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-19-5-101","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 19-5-101","heading":"Termination of the parent-child legal relationship.","body":"(1) The juvenile court may, upon petition, terminate the parent-child legal relationship between a parent or parents, or a possible parent or parents, and a child in proceedings pursuant to:\n\n(a) Section 19-1-104 (1)(d);\n\n(a.5) Section 19-5-103.5 (2)(d);\n\n(b) Section 19-5-105;\n\n(c) Section 19-5-203 (1)(d), (1)(e), (1)(f), (1)(j), and (1)(k);\n\n(d) Section 19-5-105.5; or\n\n(e) Section 19-5-105.7.\n\n(2) No parent shall relinquish the parent-child legal relationship with a child other than in accordance with the provisions of this article.\n\n(3) A termination by a court of a parent-child legal relationship pursuant to proceedings under this section or any section described by subsection (1) of this section shall not be deemed to terminate a sibling relationship between sibling children who are parties to the termination of the parent-child legal relationship.","path":["Title 19 - CHILDREN'S CODE","Article 5 - Relinquishment and Adoption","Part 1 - RELINQUISHMENT"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-19.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"3ef8f0cac92cbcea87a8c1c856d96baf33099ec1712da465601fd35a9c2c03ab","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-19-5-100.5","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-19-5-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
