{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-22-2-102","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 22-2-102","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this part 1, unless the context otherwise requires:\n\n(1) \"Commissioner of education\" or \"commissioner\" means the office of the commissioner of education created and existing pursuant to section 1 of article IX of the state constitution.\n\n(2) \"Department of education\" or \"department\" means the department of education created and existing pursuant to section 24-1-115, C.R.S.\n\n(3) \"Nonpublic school\" means a school organized and maintained by a recognized religious or independent association performing an academic function.\n\n(4) \"Public school\" means a school maintained and operated by a school district.\n\n(4.5) \"Pupil enrollment count day\" has the same meaning as set forth in section 22-54-103 (10.5).\n\n(5) \"State board of education\" or \"state board\" means the state board of education created and existing pursuant to section 1 of article IX of the state constitution.","path":["Title 22 - EDUCATION","Article 2 - Department - Commissioner","Part 1 - DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION - COMMISSIONER"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-22.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"d5a312da4fbdbfe31c4bc8711ec5be8c496718b18b02f3cf2c953f6f392bd8e8","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-22-2-101","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-22-2-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
