{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-22-30.5-501","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 22-30.5-501","heading":"Legislative declaration.","body":"(1) The general assembly hereby finds, determines, and declares that:\n\n(a) There is a growing demand for more charter schools in the state;\n\n(b) There is an underserved population of at-risk students in the state, for whom innovative educational models are needed.\n\n(2) The intent of the general assembly in establishing the state charter school institute pursuant to this part 5 is to:\n\n(a) Provide an alternative mode of authorizing charter schools as a means to assist school districts in utilizing best practices for chartering schools and to approve and oversee charter schools in school districts not desiring to do so themselves; and\n\n(b) Preserve the authority of a school district to authorize charter schools, at the school district's option.","path":["Title 22 - EDUCATION","Article 30.5 - Charter Schools","Part 5 - INSTITUTE CHARTER SCHOOLS"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-22.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"2ff05d2e5fcd9ed55a4d34eab058785f13a4fee72650a66e9cbc857c4044dd44","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-22-30.5-409","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-22-30.5-502"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
