{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-23-61.5-109","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 23-61.5-109","heading":"Powers of board.","body":"(1) In addition to any other powers granted by law to the board, such board shall have the following powers:\n\n(a) To have and use a corporate seal;\n\n(b) To sue and be sued in its own name;\n\n(c) To incur debts, liabilities, and obligations;\n\n(d) To employ agents and employees;\n\n(e) To cooperate and contract with the state or federal government or any agencies or instrumentalities thereof and to apply for and receive grants or financial assistance from any of such entities;\n\n(f) To act as and on behalf of the state of Colorado pursuant to a statutory authorization;\n\n(g) To acquire, hold, lease, sell, or otherwise dispose of any real or personal property, commodity, or service;\n\n(h) To adopt, by resolution, regulations necessary for the accomplishment or performance of the powers granted by law;\n\n(i) To exercise any other powers which are essential to carrying out the provisions of this article;\n\n(j) To do or perform any acts authorized by this section by means of an agent or by contract with any person, firm, or corporation;\n\n(k) To provide for the necessary expenses of the board in the exercise of its powers and the performance of its duties and reimburse a board member for necessary expenses incurred by him in the performance of his official duties, whether within or without the territorial limits of the district.","path":["Title 23 - POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION","Article 61.5 - Area Vocational Districts","Part 1 - ORGANIZATION"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-23.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"f3f6ed9d93d4c69a9ba9a54132dd76596ab09a8b78c259f89ff542cdd0dd47cd","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-23-61.5-108","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-23-61.5-110"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
