{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-24-18-108","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 24-18-108","heading":"Rules of conduct for public officers and state employees.","body":"(1) Proof beyond a reasonable doubt of commission of any act enumerated in this section is proof that the actor has breached his fiduciary duty.\n\n(2) A public officer or a state employee shall not:\n\n(a) Engage in a substantial financial transaction for his private business purposes with a person whom he inspects, regulates, or supervises in the course of his official duties;\n\n(b) Assist any person for a fee or other compensation in obtaining any contract, claim, license, or other economic benefit from his agency;\n\n(c) Assist any person for a contingent fee in obtaining any contract, claim, license, or other economic benefit from any state agency; or\n\n(d) Perform an official act directly and substantially affecting to its economic benefit a business or other undertaking in which he either has a substantial financial interest or is engaged as counsel, consultant, representative, or agent.\n\n(3) A head of a principal department or a member of a quasi-judicial or rule-making agency may perform an official act notwithstanding paragraph (d) of subsection (2) of this section if his participation is necessary to the administration of a statute and if he complies with the voluntary disclosure procedures under section 24-18-110.\n\n(4) Repealed.","path":["Title 24 - GOVERNMENT - STATE","Article 18 - Standards of Conduct","Part 1 - CODE OF ETHICS"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-24.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"a24670044938208b9eb17db6d3eb9075a3206d611b4b95d8f8c59d907c0c06fc","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-24-18-107","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-24-18-108.5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
