{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-24-21-512","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 24-21-512","heading":"Notarial act under authority of federally recognized Indian tribe.","body":"(1) A notarial act performed under the authority and in the jurisdiction of a federally recognized Indian tribe has the same effect as if performed by a notarial officer of this state if the act performed in the jurisdiction of the tribe is performed by:\n\n(a) A notary public of the tribe;\n\n(b) A judge, clerk, or deputy clerk of a court of the tribe; or\n\n(c) Any other individual authorized by the law of the tribe to perform the notarial act.\n\n(2) The signature and title of an individual performing a notarial act under the authority of and in the jurisdiction of a federally recognized Indian tribe are prima facie evidence that the signature is genuine and that the individual holds the designated title.\n\n(3) The signature and title of a notarial officer described in subsection (1)(a) or (1)(b) of this section conclusively establish the authority of the officer to perform the notarial act.","path":["Title 24 - GOVERNMENT - STATE","Article 21 - Secretary of State - Department of State","Part 5 - REVISED UNIFORM LAW ON NOTARIAL ACTS"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-24.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"e127fb82da3936e5905eced10e2bcbc74917f842da4f88fff21a9cf4fad14516","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-24-21-511","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-24-21-513"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
