{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-24-51-906","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 24-51-906","heading":"Deceased member who was eligible for service or reduced service retirement.","body":"(1) In accordance with the provisions of this part 9, if a member met the age and service credit requirements for service retirement as of the date of death, pursuant to the provisions of section 24-51-602 or 24-51-604, survivor benefits or a single payment shall be payable in the following order:\n\n(a) To the cobeneficiary;\n\n(b) To the surviving spouse of the member if no cobeneficiary specified in paragraph (a) of this subsection (1) exists;\n\n(c) To qualified children if none of the persons specified in paragraphs (a) and (b) of this subsection (1) exist;\n\n(d) To dependent parents if none of the persons specified in paragraphs (a) to (c) of this subsection (1) exist;\n\n(e) To the named beneficiary if none of the persons specified in paragraphs (a) to (d) of this subsection (1) exist;\n\n(f) To the estate of the deceased member if none of the persons specified in paragraphs (a) to (e) of this subsection (1) exist.","path":["Title 24 - GOVERNMENT - STATE","Article 51 - Public Employees' Retirement Association","Part 9 - SURVIVOR BENEFITS"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-24.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"3263b5f2d4dfbeaada150283e9d8555ea37daa8289672c2d6cb8be6bf013d7eb","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-24-51-905","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-24-51-907"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
