{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-25-14-301","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 25-14-301","heading":"Sale of cigarettes, tobacco products, or nicotine products to persons under twenty-one years of age prohibited - definitions.","body":"(1) This section shall be known and may be cited as the \"Teen Tobacco Use Prevention Act\".\n\n(2) (a) The sale of a cigarette or tobacco product to a person who is under twenty-one years of age is prohibited.\n\n(b) (Deleted by amendment, L. 2020.)\n\n(3) As used in this section, unless the context otherwise requires:\n\n(a) \"Cigarette\" shall have the same meaning as set forth in section 39-28-202 (4), C.R.S.\n\n(b) Repealed.\n\n(c) \"Tobacco product\" has the same meaning as \"cigarette, tobacco product, or nicotine product\", as defined in section 18-13-121 (5).\n\n(4) (a) Nothing in this section prohibits a statutory or home rule municipality, county, or city and county from enacting an ordinance or resolution that prohibits the sale of cigarettes, tobacco products, or nicotine products to a person under twenty-one years of age or imposes requirements more stringent than provided in this section.\n\n(b) A statutory or home rule municipality, county, or city and county shall not enact an ordinance or resolution that establishes a minimum age to purchase cigarettes, tobacco products, or nicotine products that is under twenty-one years of age.\n\n(5) A violation of paragraph (a) of subsection (2) of this section is a noncriminal offense.","path":["Title 25 - PUBLIC HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT","Article 14 - Control of Smoking","Part 3 - TOBACCO USE BY MINORS"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-25.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"a910f01974c403d17310346b33e5ded3baa155464358c8b6d4f0abecba409555","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-25-14-209","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-25-15-101"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
