{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-25-16.5-106","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 25-16.5-106","heading":"Statewide voluntary sustainability program.","body":"(1) The department shall establish a statewide, voluntary program that:\n\n(a) Encourages, supports, and rewards businesses, such as for-profit entities, nonprofits, local governments, schools, and state institutions of higher education; and\n\n(b) Moves the state toward evidenced sustainability.\n\n(2) In implementing the statewide voluntary program, the department may:\n\n(a) Provide assessments and technical assistance to businesses seeking to increase sustainability in their operations;\n\n(b) Facilitate business collaborations and peer-to-peer support;\n\n(c) Establish regional partnerships and partnerships with local governments, where partners consistently apply the department framework for achieving sustainable business operations;\n\n(d) Support businesses in marketing their sustainability achievements and efforts;\n\n(e) Recognize businesses' sustainability achievements;\n\n(f) Promote funding opportunities that can assist businesses with achieving their sustainability goals;\n\n(g) Provide services and funding to assist small businesses;\n\n(h) To the extent funding is available, provide annual training that includes food waste prevention and reduction strategies, develop a food waste reduction guidance document, place the document on the department's public website, and update the document at least annually; and\n\n(i) At the discretion of the department, deliver additional sustainability services to meet business needs.","path":["Title 25 - PUBLIC HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT","Article 16.5 - Colorado Sustainability"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-25.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"c67b99f2adede621d97815a2adb3b66ba30d12608e5a37006bbd4e59ff0f98ac","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-25-16.5-105","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-25-16.5-107"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
