{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-25-48-120","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 25-48-120","heading":"Safe disposal of unused medical aid-in-dying medications.","body":"(1) A person who has custody or control of medical aid-in-dying medication dispensed under this article 48 after a terminally ill individual's death shall dispose of the unused medical aid-in-dying medication either by:\n\n(a) Returning the unused medical aid-in-dying medication to the attending provider who prescribed the medical aid-in-dying medication, who shall dispose of the unused medical aid-in-dying medication in the manner required by law; or\n\n(b) Lawful means in accordance with section 25-15-328, or any other state or federally approved medication take-back program authorized under the federal \"Secure and Responsible Drug Disposal Act of 2010\", Pub.L. 111-273, and regulations adopted pursuant to the federal act.","path":["Title 25 - PUBLIC HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT","Article 48 - End-of-life Options"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-25.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"910bb0bed08b801dea899c952027d2a27f6212f225476b4f0dba715bc7936460","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-25-48-119","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-25-48-121"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
