{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-25-7-1505","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 25-7-1505","heading":"Testing - required displays - demonstrations of compliance.","body":"(1) Manufacturers of natural-gas-fueled water heaters described in section 25-7-1503 (1)(a) shall test each applicable model for sale in Colorado in accordance with:\n\n(a) The south coast air quality management district protocol \"Nitrogen Oxides Emissions Compliance Testing for Natural Gas-Fired Water Heaters and Small Boilers\", as amended;\n\n(b) The south coast air quality management district method 100.1 \"Instrumental Analyzer Procedures for Continuous Gaseous Emission Sampling\", as amended; or\n\n(c) An equivalent test protocol adopted or approved by a local, state, or federal air quality agency for determining NOx emissions from applicable fossil-fueled water heaters.\n\n(2) Manufacturers of fan-type central furnaces described by section 25-7-1503 (1)(b) shall test each applicable model for sale in Colorado in accordance with the south coast air quality management district method 100.1 \"Instrumental Analyzer Procedures for Continuous Gaseous Emission Sampling\", as amended.\n\n(2.5) Testing conducted pursuant to subsections (1) and (2) of this section must be performed using the fuel, burner, and control configuration, including any high-altitude or fuel conversion kits, test elevation or simulated elevation, and operating conditions that are representative of normal field use of the model as it is marketed for installation in Colorado.\n\n(3) Unless a product appears in a public database of products maintained by a state or federal agency or by an environmental nonprofit organization, which database requires compliance with emission standards that are as demanding or more demanding than the emission standards described in this part 15, manufacturers of products described in section 25-7-1503 (1) shall demonstrate compliance with this part 15 for each model by either:\n\n(a) Affixing a permanent mark, label, or tag to the product and packaging at the time of sale or installation that confirms compliance with such emission standards or compliance with equivalent emission standards; or\n\n(b) Submitting a certification to the executive director that demonstrates compliance with emission standards required by a state or federal agency, which emission standards are as demanding or more demanding than the emission standards described in this part 15.","path":["Title 25 - PUBLIC HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT","Article 7 - Air Quality Control","Part 15 - ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARDS FOR HEATING AND WATER HEATING APPLIANCES"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-25.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"1629d79d005bef9e7f6918c711733609d9c5c5b4117096c16328df5d4974afeb","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-25-7-1504","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-25-7-1506"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
