{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-25.5-6-414","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 25.5-6-414","heading":"Delivery of services for individuals with serious mental illness - rules.","body":"(1) The state department is committed to improving access to, and the quality of services for, individuals with serious mental illness who are enrolled in the state medical assistance program.\n\n(2) The state department shall, in collaboration with the behavioral health administration, service providers, stakeholders, and individuals with lived experience, continuously evaluate and explore options to enhance the delivery of services for individuals with serious mental illness, which efforts may include, but are not limited to:\n\n(a) Expanding community-based service capacity and care coordination;\n\n(b) Improving transitions of care across settings;\n\n(c) Leveraging federal authorities, waivers, and financing mechanisms;\n\n(d) Advancing innovative service delivery models and value-based payment approaches; and\n\n(e) Identifying and addressing gaps in access, quality, and outcomes.\n\n(3) The state department shall consider opportunities to align financing, benefits, and service delivery systems to better meet the needs of individuals with serious mental illness, with the goals of improving health outcomes, reducing avoidable utilization of high-cost services, and supporting individuals to live in the least restrictive setting appropriate to meet the individual's needs.\n\n(4) The state department may adopt rules as necessary to implement this section.\n\n(5) This section does not create an entitlement to a specific service or level of care.","path":["Title 25.5 - HEALTH CARE POLICY AND FINANCING","Article 6 - Colorado Medical Assistance Act - Long-term Care","Part 4 - HOME- AND COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES FOR PERSONS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-25.5.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"d8cb2e517ab7a57126ee1f2dd7c584af2c0932baddee29eb88e779c02a20eb86","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-25.5-6-413","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-25.5-6-415"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
