{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-26-5.3-105","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 26-5.3-105","heading":"Eligibility requirements - period of eligibility - services available.","body":"(1) Families with children or youth at imminent risk of out-of-home placement are eligible for emergency assistance. Assistance is available to or on behalf of a needy child or youth who is less than twenty-one years of age and any other member of the household in which the child or youth lives if:\n\n(a) The child or youth is living with kin, as defined in section 26-6-903, in a place of residence maintained by the kin;\n\n(b) Such child is without resources immediately accessible to meet the child's needs; and\n\n(c) The emergency assistance is necessary to avoid destitution or to provide living arrangements for the child in a home.\n\n(2) Assistance shall be authorized for a family no more than once during a twelve-month period.\n\n(3) Emergency assistance provided pursuant to this article 5.3 may be used for, but is not limited to:\n\n(a) Twenty-four-hour emergency shelter facilities or caretakers for children who must be removed from their homes in emergency situations;\n\n(b) Counseling, including crisis counseling available by telephone twenty-four hours a day;\n\n(c) Information referral;\n\n(d) Intensive family preservation services;\n\n(e) Repealed.\n\n(f) Services used to develop and implement a discrete case plan, as provided by the federal \"Social Security Act\";\n\n(g) Day treatment services for children.\n\n(h) Goods needed for the child's basic care, including beds, clothing, and transportation costs; and\n\n(i) Limited rental or housing assistance, not to exceed a sixty-day subsidy.","path":["Title 26 - HUMAN SERVICES CODE","Article 5.3 - Emergency Assistance for Families with Children at Imminent Risk of Out-of-Home Placement Act"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-26.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"7dbb194cf550d0d0784f74c755705e8d5d049dcdf6a367c995c44160c9afe8f3","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-26-5.3-104","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-26-5.3-106"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
