{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-30-20-1409","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 30-20-1409","heading":"Waste tire generators - requirements - exemptions.","body":"(1) A waste tire generator shall, as specified by the commission by rule:\n\n(a) Register with the department;\n\n(b) Affix a decal required pursuant to section 30-20-1417 (1) to the required location;\n\n(c) Maintain records, including the manifest required by section 30-20-1417 (2), relating to such generation;\n\n(d) Engage only a registered waste tire hauler to transport the waste tires the generator generates;\n\n(e) Develop and maintain written criteria for distinguishing waste tires from used tires, keep the criteria on site, and make the criteria available for inspection;\n\n(f) Clearly identify waste tires and used tires according to the criteria developed pursuant to paragraph (e) of this subsection (1); and\n\n(g) Organize used tires for sale in a manner that allows the inspection of each individual tire.\n\n(2) A waste tire generator is subject to the following requirements:\n\n(a) A generator that is not also registered as a waste tire collection facility, waste tire processor, or waste tire monofill shall not have on site more than one thousand five hundred waste tires at any one time;\n\n(b) A generator that sells replacement tires in Colorado shall not refuse to accept from a customer, at the point of transfer, waste tires of the same general type and in a quantity at least equal to the number of new tires purchased;\n\n(c) A generator may accept waste tires; and\n\n(d) A generator shall complete and submit to the department self-certification documentation as required by the department.\n\n(3) The department may issue a waiver relating to any requirement of this section.","path":["Title 30 - GOVERNMENT - COUNTY","Article 20 - Public Improvements","Part 14 - STRATEGIES FOR WASTE TIRES"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-30.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"256ba8053e6e6c1bf29b6ded94c4fa0be91324c163cfbb2ba349fda9e15b7a1d","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-30-20-1408","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-30-20-1410"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
