{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-38-13-404","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 38-13-404","heading":"Retention of records by holder.","body":"(1) A holder required to file a report under section 38-13-401 shall retain records for six years after the later of the date the report was filed or the last date a timely report was due to be filed, unless a shorter period is provided by rule of the administrator. A holder may satisfy the requirement to retain records under this section through an agent. The records must contain:\n\n(a) The information required to be included in the report;\n\n(b) The date, place, and nature of the circumstances that gave rise to the property right;\n\n(c) The amount or value of the property;\n\n(d) The last address of the apparent owner, if known to the holder; and\n\n(e) If the holder sells, issues, or provides to others for sale or issue in this state traveler's checks, money orders, or similar instruments, other than third-party bank checks, on which the holder is directly liable, a record of the instruments while they remain outstanding indicating the state and date of issue.","path":["Title 38 - PROPERTY - REAL AND PERSONAL","Article 13 - Revised Uniform Unclaimed Property Act","Part 4 - REPORT BY HOLDER"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-38.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"4cde4325aad262829f1021e5f78f57b713fd226bf5d3bf7d78b3cca56d2b1b18","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-38-13-403","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-38-13-405"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
