{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-42-1-238","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 42-1-238","heading":"Comprehensive contingency plan - rules - repeal.","body":"(1) (a) The department of revenue shall develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive contingency plan to ensure continuity of operations and the protection of critical services in the event of a disruption in vehicle licensing operations.\n\n(b) (I) The department shall implement the contingency plan required in subsection (1)(a) of this section on or before December 31, 2027.\n\n(II) This subsection (1)(b) is repealed, effective July 1, 2029.\n\n(2) To comply with this section, the contingency plan must:\n\n(a) Identify the functions that are critical to vehicle licensing operations and the resources required to support them;\n\n(b) Establish procedures for backup, recovery, and reconstitution of systems and services;\n\n(c) Designate roles and responsibilities during contingency operations;\n\n(d) Identify alternate processing sites during contingency operations;\n\n(e) Be tested and updated annually or upon changes to critical functions and the systems that provide and support critical functions;\n\n(f) Be annually reviewed and, when helpful, enhanced; and\n\n(g) Be established through consultation with, consideration of, recommendations by, and unanimous acceptance from stakeholders that include:\n\n(I) An association of county clerks in Colorado that has existed and has been active for at least ten years; and\n\n(II) The governor's office of information technology created in section 24-37.5-103.\n\n(3) The governor's office of information technology shall provide the appropriate network and equipment support to the department.\n\n(4) The department shall adopt rules necessary for the implementation of this section.","path":["Title 42 - VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC","Article 1 - General and Administrative","Part 2 - ADMINISTRATION"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-42.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"0caa51455c7e2b06ae0bd1f0eb8b01dd1e973a474eff2cf840f2dd12022af8fc","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-42-1-237","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-42-1-301-to-42-1-305"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
