{"data":{"id":"us-co/c.r.s.-42-4-218","jurisdiction":"us-co","citation":"C.R.S. § 42-4-218","heading":"Single-beam road-lighting equipment.","body":"(1) Head lamps arranged to provide a single distribution of light not supplemented by auxiliary driving lamps shall be permitted on motor vehicles manufactured and sold prior to July 15, 1936, in lieu of multiple-beam road-lighting equipment specified in section 42-4-216 if the single distribution of light complies with the following requirements and limitations:\n\n(a) The head lamps shall be so aimed that when the vehicle is not loaded none of the high-intensity portion of the light shall, at a distance of twenty-five feet ahead, project higher than a level of five inches below the level of the center of the lamp from which it comes and in no case higher than forty-two inches above the level on which the vehicle stands at a distance of seventy-five feet ahead.\n\n(b) The intensity shall be sufficient to reveal persons and vehicles at a distance of at least two hundred feet.\n\n(2) Any person who violates any provision of this section commits a class B traffic infraction.","path":["Title 42 - VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC","Article 4 - Regulation of Vehicles and Traffic","Part 2 - EQUIPMENT"],"source_url":"https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-42.htm","current_through":"Colorado Revised Statutes 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:37:45Z","sha256":"e961fb6907ae436e38456e5727ccb579c39b18d7bff4b9e7ec011d0f7bb2ec36","source_id":"us-co","stale":false,"prev":"us-co/c.r.s.-42-4-217","next":"us-co/c.r.s.-42-4-219"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
