Stat. § 45a-731a","heading":"Issuance of final adoption decree notwithstanding death of child.","body":"If (1) a minor child, free for adoption pursuant to section 45a-725 on or after January 1, 1995, was placed with prospective adoptive parents by the Commissioner of Children and Families or a licensed child-placing agency, (2) an application for adoption was filed with the court of probate having jurisdiction, and (3) the child died prior to April 30, 1995, the court may enter a final decree approving such adoption, notwithstanding the death of such minor child prior to the final adoption decree, provided such adoption is solely for the purpose of establishing a name for the child and rights concerning burial.
