Code § 1-1231.03","heading":"Authority to perform notarial act.","body":"(a)\nA notarial officer may perform a notarial act authorized by this chapter or by law of the District other than this chapter.\n\n(b)\nA notarial officer shall not perform a notarial act if:\n(1)\nThe record is incomplete or blank;\n(2)\nThe notarial officer or the officer's spouse is a party to the record;\n(3)\nThe notarial officer or the officer's spouse has a direct beneficial interest in the record; or\n(4)\nThe notarial officer does not read or understand the language in which the certificate of notarial act is written.\n\n(c)\nA notarial act performed in violation of this section is voidable.\n\n(d)\nA notarial officer may certify that a tangible copy of an electronic record is an accurate copy of the electronic record.","path":["Title 1.
