Code § 1-307.01","heading":"District of Columbia student loan insurance program.","body":"(a)\nThe government of the District of Columbia is authorized:\n(1)\nTo establish a student loan insurance program which meets the requirements of this part for a State loan insurance program in order to enter into agreements with the Commissioner for the purposes of this title;\n(2)\nTo enter into such agreements with the Commissioner;\n(3)\nTo use amounts appropriated for the purposes of this section to establish a fund for such purposes and for expenses in connection therewith;\n(4)\nTo accept and use donations for the purposes of this section; and\n(5)\nTo establish a student loan program for District of Columbia residents which shall be funded in whole or in part through the proceeds of Industrial Revenue Bonds and to enter into agreements with other entities for the purpose of managing, regulating, and overseeing such a program.\n\n(b)\nNotwithstanding the provisions of any applicable law, if the borrower, on any loan insured under the program established pursuant to this section, is a minor, any otherwise valid note or other written agreement executed by him for the purposes of such loan shall create a binding obligation.\n\n(c)\nThere are authorized to be appropriated such amounts as may be necessary for the purposes of this section.","path":["Title 1.
