Code § 2-1562","heading":"Establishment and purpose.","body":"(a)\nThere is established, as part of the District of Columbia government, a Youth Advisory Council (“Youth Council”).\n\n(b)\nThe Youth Council shall advise the Mayor, the Council of the District of Columbia, District of Columbia Public Schools, public charter schools, other key decision makers in the District government, and adult leaders in the District by:\n(1)\nCommenting on legislation and policies that impact youth;\n(2)\nPresenting methods to resolve conflicts involving youth;\n(3)\nPresenting issues that affect youth and providing recommendations to improve the lives of youth;\n(4)\nMonitoring programs and policies that affect youth to ensure that they are achieving the intended results; and\n(5)\nWorking with other youth organizations in the District to:\n(A)\nProvide mutual support;\n(B)\nCollaborate on shared issues and interests;\n(C)\nAdvise one another on ways to increase their effectiveness;\n(D)\nAssist in the start-up of new youth organizations, including youth organizations for each ward of the District;\n(E)\nPrepare youth for leadership positions by providing appropriate training; and\n(F)\nCreate more youth and adult partnerships.\n\n(c)\nThe Youth Council shall convene a general assembly of youth organizations within the District on a regularly scheduled basis.","path":["Title 2.
