Code § 2-1599.03","heading":"Membership of the Coordinating Committee.","body":"(a)\nThe Coordinating Committee shall consist of 26 voting members and 4 nonvoting members, as follows:\n(1)\nThe following governmental voting members or their designees:\n(A)\nState Superintendent, OSSE;\n(B)\nDirector, ReEngagement Center;\n(C)\nDirector, Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services;\n(D)\nDirector, Child and Family Services Agency;\n(E)\nDirector, Department of Corrections;\n(F)\nChancellor, District of Columbia Public Schools;\n(G)\nExecutive Director, Public Charter School Board;\n(H)\nPresident, University of the District of Columbia Community College;\n(I)\nDirector, Family Court Social Services Division;\n(J)\nChief Judge, Superior Court of the District of Columbia;\n(K)\nExecutive Director, Corrections Information Council;\n(L)\nDirector, Department of Behavioral Health;\n(M)\nAttorney General for the District of Columbia;\n(N)\nDirector, Department of Disability Services;\n(O)\nDirector, District of Columbia Public Defender Service;\n(P)\nDeputy Mayor for Education; and\n(Q)\nOmbudsperson for Children, Office of the Ombudsperson for Children;\n(2)\nThe following nongovernmental voting members:\n(A)\nA parent, guardian, or foster parent of a student in the care of D.C.;\n(B)\nA current or former student involved in the juvenile or criminal justice system;\n(C)\nA current or former student involved in the foster care system;\n(D)\nA representative from an organization that provide services to students involved in the juvenile or criminal justice system;\n(E)\nA representative from an organization that provides services to students involved in the foster care system;\n(F)\nAn education attorney representing students in the care of D.C. involved in the juvenile and criminal system;\n(G)\nAn attorney representing students in the care of D.C. involved in the foster care system; and\n(H)\nOne representative each from 2 charter school local education agencies.\n(3)\nThe following nonvoting governmental members or their designees, who the Mayor shall invite to participate:\n(A)\nDirector, Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency for the District of Columbia;\n(B)\nDirector, Pretrial Services Agency for the District of Columbia; and\n(C)\nDirector, Bureau of Prisons; and\n(4)\nThe Director of the Coordinating Committee, who shall serve as a nonvoting member.\n\n(b)\n(1)\nWithin 60 days of October 1, 2019, the Mayor shall nominate individuals to serve as the nongovernmental voting members identified in subsection (a)(2) of this section in accordance with § 1-523.01(f).\n(2)\n(A)\nEach nongovernmental voting member of the Coordinating Committee shall serve a term of 4 years; provided, that of the initial appointments, the Mayor shall designate:\n(i)\n4 members to serve terms of 4 years;\n(ii)\n3 members to serve terms of 3 years; and\n(iii)\n2 members to serve terms of 2 years.\n(B)\nTerms for the initial nongovernmental voting members shall begin on the date that a majority of the members are sworn in, which shall become the anniversary date for all subsequent appointments.\n(C)\nWhen a vacancy occurs, the Mayor shall appoint a new member in accordance with paragraph (1) of this subsection.\n(D)\nAny individual appointed to fill a vacancy of a nongovernmental voting member occurring before the expiration of the predecessor's term shall be appointed only for the remainder of the predecessor's term.\n(E)\nNongovernmental voting members may serve no more than 2 consecutive terms; provided, that a member appointed pursuant to subparagraph (C) of this paragraph, who served less than one year in the member's initial term, may serve 2 consecutive terms beyond the member's initial term.\n(F)\nNo individual who has served the maximum number of terms permitted pursuant to subparagraph (E) of this paragraph may be eligible for reappointment.","path":["Title 2.
