Code § 20-905","heading":"Manner of presentation of claim.","body":"(a)\nA claimant shall present a claim against a decedent’s estate by delivering or mailing, return receipt requested, a written statement of the claim, verified in accordance with section 20-102:\n(1)\nto the personal representative with a copy to the Register; or\n(2)\nto the Register with a copy to the personal representative.\n\n(b)\nA statement of a claim shall state:\n(1)\nthe name and address of the claimant;\n(2)\nthe basis of the claim;\n(3)\nthe amount claimed;\n(4)\nif the claim is not yet due, when the claim will become due;\n(5)\nif the claim is contingent, the nature of the contingency; and\n(6)\nif the claim is secured, a description of the security.\n\n(c)\nThe Court may, in its discretion, disallow a claim, in whole or in part, if the claimant fails to comply with subsections (a) and (b) or with the personal representative’s reasonable requests for additional information.","path":["Title 20.
