Code § 3-1202.24","heading":"Board of Acupuncture, Chiropractic, and Naturopathic Physicians.","body":"(a)\nThere is established a Board of Acupuncture, Chiropractic, and Naturopathic Physicians to consist of 7 members appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council.\n\n(b)\nThe Board shall regulate the practices of acupuncture, chiropractic, and naturopathic medicine.\n\n(c)\nOf the members of the Board, 2 shall be acupuncturists licensed in the District, 2 shall be doctors of chiropractic licensed in the District, 2 shall be naturopathic physicians licensed in the District, and one shall be a consumer member.\n\n(d)\nExcept as provided in subsection (e) of this section, members of the Board shall be appointed for terms of 3 years.\n\n(e)\nOf the members initially appointed under this section, 2 shall be appointed for a term of one year, 2 shall be appointed for a term of 2 years, and 3 shall be appointed for a term of 3 years. The terms of the members first appointed shall begin on the date that a majority of the first members are sworn in, which shall become the anniversary date for all subsequent appointments.\n\n(f)\nThe Board shall commence operation and assume regulatory authority from the Board of Medicine for the practices of acupuncture and naturopathic medicine and the Board of Chiropractic one year [after] July 19, 2024, or once the following appointments are made, whichever is earlier:\n(1)\nOne member licensed to practice acupuncture;\n(2)\nOne member licensed to practice chiropractic;\n(3)\nOne member licensed to practice naturopathic medicine; and\n(4)\nRepealed.\n(5)\nOne consumer member.","path":["Title 3.
