Code § 3-1205.18","heading":"Voluntary limitation or surrender of a license, registration, or certification by impaired health professional.","body":"(a)\n(1)\nAny license, registration, or certification issued under this chapter may be voluntarily limited by the licensee, registrant, or person certified either:\n(A)\nPermanently;\n(B)\nFor an indefinite period of time to be restored at the discretion of the board regulating the health occupation; or\n(C)\nFor a definite period of time under an agreement between the licensee, registrant, or person certified and the board.\n(2)\nDuring the period of time that the license, registration, or certification has been limited, the licensee, registrant, or person certified shall not engage in the practices or activities to which the voluntary limitation of practice relates.\n(3)\nAs a condition for accepting the voluntary limitation of practice, the board may require the licensee, registrant, or person certified to do 1 or more of the following:\n(A)\nAccept care, counseling, or treatment by physicians or other health professionals acceptable to the board;\n(B)\nParticipate in a program of education prescribed by the board; and\n(C)\nPractice under the direction of a health professional acceptable to the board for a specified period of time.\n\n(b)\n(1)\nAny license, registration, or certification issued under this chapter may be voluntarily surrendered to the board by the licensee, registrant, or person certified either:\n(A)\nPermanently;\n(B)\nFor an indefinite period of time to be restored at the discretion of the board regulating the health occupation; or\n(C)\nFor a definite period of time under an agreement between the licensee, registrant, or person certified and the board.\n(2)\nDuring the period of time that the license, registration, or certification has been surrendered, the individual surrendering the license, registration, or certification shall not practice, attempt to practice, or offer to practice the health occupation for which the license, registration, or certification is required, shall be considered as unlicensed, unregistered, or uncertified, and shall not be required to pay the fees for the license, registration, or certification.\n\n(c)\nAll records, communications, and proceedings of the board related to the voluntary limitation or surrender of a license, registration, or certification under this section shall be confidential.","path":["Title 3.
