Code § 3-1206.07b","heading":"Certified clinical nurse specialist.","body":"(a)\nIn addition to the functions authorized under § 3-1206.04, a certified clinical nurse specialist may provide the services described in subsection (b) of this section related to specific specialties, including:\n(1)\nPopulations, such as pediatrics, geriatrics, or women's health;\n(2)\nSettings, such as critical care or the emergency room;\n(3)\nDiseases or medical subspecialties, such as diabetes or oncology;\n(4)\nTypes of care, such as psychiatric or rehabilitation; and\n(5)\nTypes of problem, such as pain, wounds, and stress.\n\n(b)\nA clinical nurse specialist may provide diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients or clients, through:\n(1)\nProviding for the continuous improvement of patient or client outcomes and nursing care;\n(2)\nPracticing within the core competencies and behaviors specified by the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists or other national certifying body recognized by the Board;\n(3)\nCreating therapeutic environments through mentoring and system changes;\n(4)\nPracticing with individual clients, families, groups, and populations of clients; and\n(5)\nAny other functions and roles prescribed by rules.","path":["Title 3.
