Code § 4-2101","heading":"Community legal education and resources grant program.","body":"(a)\nThere is established a Community Legal Education and Resources Grant Program (\"Program\") to be administered by the Mayor to provide grants, pursuant to part B of subchapter XII-A of Chapter 3 of Title 1, to legal services providers to deliver legal services.\n\n(b)\nThe Mayor, pursuant to subchapter I of Chapter 5 of Title 2, may issue rules to implement the Program, including rules governing the:\n(1)\nTypes of legal services projects eligible for grant funding;\n(2)\nApplication process and timing; and\n(3)\nMonitoring of Program performance and reporting requirements.\n\n(c)\nFor the purposes of this chapter, the term:\n(1)\n\"Legal services\" means:\n(A)\nLegal representation of District residents, including through the provision of legal advice, brief services, and limited-scope representation; or\n(B)\nTraining of attorneys in legal issues.\n(2)\n\"Legal services provider\" means:\n(A)\nA nonprofit organization;\n(B)\nA private entity that partners with a nonprofit organization; or\n(C)\nA private entity utilizing pro bono legal assistance.","path":["Title 4.
