Code § 42-3507.05","heading":"Tenant hot line.","body":"The Department of Buildings shall provide for the continuation of a tenant hot line. The primary purpose of the tenant hot line is to provide assistance to low- and moderate-income tenants. To carry out this purpose, the functions and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:\n\n(1)\nAnswering rent control procedural questions, and directing tenants toward possible courses of action in resolving problems;\n\n(2)\nProviding advice on housing regulation violations;\n\n(3)\nExplaining rent increases;\n\n(4)\nProviding guidance on emergency shelter;\n\n(5)\nProviding guidance on the Tenant Assistance Program;\n\n(6)\nProviding guidance in resolving problems involving water, heating, repairs, and other matters;\n\n(7)\nProviding advice on possible action in response to allegations of discrimination, harassment, or neglect by housing providers;\n\n(8)\nAnswering preliminary questions about remedies through the courts;\n\n(9)\nProviding guidance when tenants are faced with eviction; and\n\n(10)\nProviding guidance on other tenant problems.","path":["Title 42.
